This Canada Lily was growing in a wooded bog area near Jamestown New York. It comes in yellow, orange and red color phases.

The shot was taken showing it's underside since the flower hangs its head downward. I will post another image in workshop which shows the bloom as it appears normally.

The Canada Lily which is sometimes called The Wild Yellow Lily, blooms from June to August with the flowers lasting from 7 to 10 days.

The plant is found in moist meadows, bogs, and woodland openings.

I used a flash since it was very dark in this area of the woods. The ground was so swampy and mushy I couldn't use a tripod.

This is how the lily appeared to me when I first spotted it. There were only about 5 or 6 plants growing in the entire area.
