Chrysotoxum bicinctum

This species belongs to the family Syrphidae and has its name from the two yellow bands on the abdomen. The wings have a very sharp dark chocolate brown patch about the stigma. Its length is 8,5-12 mm and the wing length is from 7-10 mm. It occurs in grassy areas where there is shelter from bushes and trees.

I've no ID for the flower as I didn't take notice of its leaves.

This was captured from a distance of 30 cm (12 inches) with the camera handheld. It has been heavily cropped as you can see in the WORKSHOP.
