I used Microsofts Digital Image Pro to do the following:

1st I selected the back of the beatle with the edgefinder;
then I adjusted the levels to be brighter;
then I selected the remaining dark parts and did the same

I cloned out the two branches on the right, that was a bit distracting. And added some light to darken areas on the back of beetle and wheat. Hope you like it. Please let me know.
