POLYOMMATUS CORIDON FEMALE
Chalkhill Blue
Silbergrüner Bläuling
L'Argus bleu nacré
Family: Lycaendae
Sub-family: Polyommatinae
Size: 30-35mm
Here the female with wings closed. I have already presented once the same female (not the same picture), which I deleted, having had some PC-screen problems. The quality was too bad and I would like to show it again, I hope with a better picture.
Females have not blue upperwings, like the males, but brown ones with orange little dots on the edge.

Well Anne,
You uploaded a beautiful image. Well done...
I usually develop RAW images in the ACR (Adobe Camera Raw). This time I used your Jpeg TN-upload though.
Quick overview workflow:
1. Color temperature: made the image a tad 'colder'
2. Recovery highlights: I wanted to try especially that one, 'cause this isn't a RAW image; the slider was set quite a lot to the right to get detail/info/data into the white parts as much as possible . Still have to compare the results online...
3.A little more vibrance or saturation. Maybe I made the colours somewhat too cold.
4.I mentioned in my quick note you managed to get a good compo through that square; well I figured out it wasn't exactly a square:-) I thought: what if I should try to get a square after all. This wasn't posssible at first sight. What I did was the following: I took the crop tool, draw a square and saw there was a white space above the image; I cloned this space with the cloning tool using the green background.
5.Finally I opened the image in Photoshop in which I did some selective sharpening through USM in a specific channel in LAB mode. In LAB mode I also blurred your background a bit, having inverted the aforementioned selection.
6. ...and a white frame
I hope it was somehow useful. Thanks and I wish a very nice day.
