After visiting Kjenndalsbreen with a slight disappointment that we couldn't reach the ice. We drove into the next glacier valley called Briksdalen. At the moment we had a first clear view on the glacier we realized that global warming also caused the retreat of this glacier. After consulting the Lonely Planet we knew that Briksdalbreen was retreating with 500 meters each year.

So we turned around with more disappointment but still my photo heart was screaming for a photo. A small parking space at Oldevatnet gave me this view. A little work with two grey grad filters gave me good lattitude on the exposure and bit of creative focus allowed me to this end result. Here you see the almost melted Briskdalbreen with on top the ice cap called Jostedalsbreen.

P.S. I've updated my traveloque
