Fungi and native Iris (28)
LordPotty Gold Star Critiquer/Gold Star Workshop Editor/Gold Note Writer [C: 1449 W: 146 N: 3764] (12035)
I had a great day yesterday on the Coal Creek falls track that winds through the mixed native, podocarp and beech forest near Runanga, just north of Greymouth.
The day was overcast,so perfect weather for taking macros in the forest.
Using a tripod and long exposure is allowing me to get much sharper and brighter shots than I ever did taking handheld shots on auto.
I'm not yet sure what this fungi is,but when I find out I'll change the title.
The flower stalk to the right of it is a tiny native Iris, Libertia pulchella.
I'll post a photo of one in flower in the workshop, then do a separate post of the species later.

Hope you like this beautiful glimpse of our mossy rainforest.
Cheers
Steve
