Hello my Friends!
Today another rather "fresh" picture, taken just few days ago during a bat trip with my colleagues :)

This is Natterer's bat Myotis nattereri (Kuhl, 1817) (Vespertilionidae) (in Polish: nocek Natterera), one of 10 species belonging to this genus known from Poland.

Here are some basic facts about this species:

Distribution: Europe, N Africa and Near East

Habitat: mainly forests and parks, overwintering in caves and cave-like environments

Size: head and body about 45cm, wingspan up to 30cm

Life-span: up to 25 years

Food: different insect species, especially large flies, also spiders (it can collect insect from leaves and tree bark too)

Echolocation: between 23-115 kHz

Conservation status: Least Concern

Etymology: named after German naturalist Johann Natterer

Please feel free to watch also my other Chiroptera pictures here :>

And last but not least, I would like to dedicate this picture to bat specialist and lover from Turkey - Ahmet (rousettus) :>

Thank you in advance for your time! :>

Hi Radomir,
all I did was lighten it in Levels, add a bit of contrast using Curves and sharpened it a tad.

I hope you like it!
