 Getting Colder (32) NinaM
(6596) | I think the image of this post really shows what I mean: getting colder.
There are things we cannot change and the seasons are part of that. Which is fine with me except that one has to be ready for the changes incurred. Fall means to us, in the northern part of North America, getting colder.
That's what I mean here. I walked with Toupti and my fingers were freezing on the body of the camera. The wind was high and I could see the chills on the waves of the lake. At the foreground, you can see a patch of ice newly formed. You can see some other patches further in the frame. The light is very dim, it is 4:30 PM and the sun is already behind the mountains. I imagine you, TN members, living in Iceland or in northern Europe, with very few hours of light during the day. I really sympathize because what I find hard at that time of the year isn't the cold coming in, it's the darkness.
Yet, there is so much beauty in the excesses of nature. Rendering cold in a picture is not so easy but with the help of light, it becomes obvious.
I didn't change many things on the picture, I cropped slightly at the bottom and I didn't touch the levels nor the saturation because I thought it was very well rendered. It is a little dark but with the sun facing the camera at that hour, it is inevitable. It's also been resized for TN.
I hope you enjoy this beautiful sight of freezing Lac Pierre as much as I did walking around looking for the best light. I thought of you all along, trying to bring back a frrrrreezing picture.
Have a good weekend,
