Today, a very simple female mallard–Anas platyrhynchos. After a short search on TN with the name “mallard” resulted that are almost 900 pictures with this species. From which, some of them are exceptional. On Google there are almost 776000 pages for Anas platyrhyncos and almost 7 million for simple “mallard”. Pictures: 1120000 for mallard and682000if you search with the scientific name. I don’t search in how many languages! I think in all.
So, at this amazing volume of information’s and pictures, I will add another imagine. But I consider that this is a little bit special. Why? Because is presenting a female mallard and her eggs in a small city like Bouillon, Belgium.
And now, the problem: the female considered to make her nest on special flower-pot, mounted on the edge of a bridge. The height of the bridge: between the first or second floor of a building. I don’t have any doubts that the mother is not capable to fly, but I am wandering, how the little ducklings will reach the water?? They will survive? They will not be an easy prey for cats or for...some birds?
This example is one of the adaptability of this species in each type of environment!
