HEPATICA NOBILIS (Schreb, 1771)

Anemone hepatica (Kidneywort, Common hepatica)
Leberblume
Anémone hépathique

Family: Ranunculaceae

This flower is among the first to appear after the snowmelt. I have taken the picture yesterday in Valais at an altitude of ca 1650 m, where snow was still present last week. We hope that it finally disappeared until next winter.
The purole color is given by the pigment Anthocyanin, which transforms light in warmth and helps these flowers to survive even low temperatures.
