Red-eyed Damselfly - Erythromma najas
This species is quite widespread in water with floating surface vegetation.
I have seen a large numbers of Erythromma najas in tandem on Water Milfoil (Myriophyllum) . I suppose it is Myriophyllum !
Some of the pairs were copulating on the floating lief and some were, still in tandem laying eggs in the steam, under the water surface! See the WS!
The damselflies stayed under the surface for a very long time, at least half an hour!

Evolution of lay eggs!
Evolution de la ponte des oeufs par la femelle.

les photos ne sont peut-être pas de hautes qualités mais je trouvais que ça valait la peine de monter les différentes étapes. Une leçon de chose!

merci
