The Pied Currawong is quite a common bird around the edge of Sydney bush. It looks much like a large blackbird, but has white flashes underneath and on the tail as seen here. This one is sitting in a gum tree.

Another taken at the same time. Handheld 400mm so should use a monopod perhaps.
