Crooked baby giraffe (9)

This is a six week old Baringo (Giraffe camelopardalis rothschildi) giraffe taken at the Wild Animal Park in San Diego. The neck is crooked from birth and will eventually straighten out as the muscles become stronger. Mom was standing behind the giraffe watching over him in the shade of the palm tree.

This giraffe is also known as the Uganda or Rothschild's giraffe. It is native to Kenya and Uganda. This is the tallest of the giraffe subspecies. The name giraffe is derived from the Arabic zarafah, meaning "one who walks swiftly". The translation of the Latin camelopardalis is "camel marked like leopard"

Hello Cathy and I hope you don't mind me messing with your photo. This is what I did:

-Cloned out the schade of the tree and the foot in the back.

-Adjusted levels by -14.

-Added a black border.

I hope you like the result.

Regards,
Pieter
