Death of the Lone Tree (8) Aramok
(4931) | This was what I found when I returned after 10 years to my tree.
The spring gales had torn the top off the tree.
But looking carefully at the Lone Tree you will see that this has clearly happened before, so maybe, just maybe, it is not the death of this tree after all.
This photo was taken during early summer, until the other which was taken in early autumn. The colours are the obvious difference, along with the fact I had found out what a polarising filter was by then!
The picture has been scanned in from 35mm film. The noise reduction on sky only, resizing and sharpening. Everything else is as it was.
How did I get the similar angle - well I carried a print with me all the way... the only major difference is this time I had a wider angle lens.
I have also posted a Workshop A and Workshop B where I have editted the photo removing the stump, which in itself makes for a nice landscape picture - but then I am a landscape person really (providing it includes mountains). |

(4931) Cloning Edited by:Aramok
(4931) |
I have used a couple of tools to clone out the tree. the main one, involved copying a section to the side of the tree trunk and pasting it over, then the tool allowed you to expose the original layer again, up to the tree trunk. I can't remember its name.
Also used as a little of the standard spot clone tool to pull in parts of the mountainside to blend and reduce the 'I've see this before' effect. |
