![Gold Star Critiquer/Gold Star Workshop Editor/Gold Note Writer [C: 1845 W: 109 N: 4262]](http://i1.treknature.com/misc/g-g-g.gif) (14141) | An Eastern Yellow Robin (Eopsaltria australis), a common passerine of eastern Australia. It is found in a wide variety of forest types from open woodland to rainforest and at all altitudes. This species is a delightful companion in the bush and will often follow people (at a distance), catching insects disturbed from forest tracks as you walk by.
This was shot in rainforest at Dorrigo NP and the light levels were pretty low and I was using ISO of 200. There was a lot of noise in the image and of course this is a crop of around half the original frame. At the time, I also took two shot with fill-flash, but they didn’t work at all. With this shot, I tried NeatImage to reduce the noise, but it wasn’t terribly successful. I also tried manual reduction in Photoshop, which was time consuming.
I suppose the moral of the story is that compact cameras such as my S2 will never match a DSLR and I post this shot to illustrate the trade off you get in low light.
I know its not perfect so don’t be too harsh with your critiques.

I choosed another frame, reduced the noice from the BG and made it a little darker, hope you like it, bye
