| I feel the nicest part of this scene is the water and surrounding plants. When I half close my eyes and look at the original I see the bright sky, the bright rocks on the left side and some central plants, then the lovely blue pool in the foreground. I really like the blue pool and want to use it to draw the viewer into the scene. Therefore I cut out the overexposed sky, and darkened the rocks on the left side. I also cut some off the bottom so as to emphasize the blue pool. It has a lovely shape and brings the eye to the brighter green trees and then to the lovely deeper blue of the water beyond. There the eye rests in the serenity of that water. I used Levels, Contrast and Burn to darken the image. The original has a grander scope and this one has a more intimate feel. Both have their merits. |
