Widespread and locally common. The first of the large dragonflies to emerge each year. Adults can be seen from early May to mid July. The Hairy Dragonfly can be found at sheltered lowland lakes, fens and cutover bogs. It is locally common in parts of the midlands, north and west. This is the earliest dragonfly to emerge each year. Adults have been seen regularly in early May and may even emerge earlier in favoured years.
Yes the warm weather have awake them now and I like that very much.
Yesterday I had send my first one of the year in with the canon 350. My thing is to made better shots with the 350 then with the finepix 7000 and with tips I needed it must be done.
yes it's a favourite dragonfly from me. It's also a tribute to Adrian who's tips are realy useful for me today. And with the canon 420 ex speedlight and a onepod.
I took this shot on 400 asa and with F20 and the setting was on TV, on 1/80 and I used the oneleg pod for the stability. And looks here it works. I hope you like it to this fantastic dragon with his golden wings.
