Canivet's Emerald (2)
martinebert (4)
Taken at Blue Bayou, on the Island of Utila, this is a small male Canivet's Emerald (Chlorostilbon canvetii). The Emerald is a year-round resident and is quite tame, allowing close approach and touching on occassion. These are curious, friendly hummers. The Canivet's Emerald is one of only two hummingbirds on Utila (other is Green Breasted Mango) and are regularly and easily seen in town at feeders and on hibiscus and other flowers.

Cropped and Sharpened

Hi Martin, I have tried to sharpen your photo, but it is still too soft and has added some 'noise' to the background.

I also cropped from the left side so the bird isn't placed in the centre, and there is more room in front of the bird to move into.

For a first photo it isn't too bad, but like most of us when we started, you have a lot to learn.

Cheers
