Picasso Trigger Fish (22)

This time a shot of a Picasso Trigger Fish, also taken in the Barcelona aquarium. I find this one of the most subtle colour compositions of nature. Although there may be more sensational salt water fishes this is for me a wonderful combination of in itself dull colours which together are very beautiful.

The Picasso Fish was given his name by the Berlin Aquarium. It is also called humu-humu-nuku-apuaaa by the natives of Hawaii.

In the wild the Picasso Fish can grow to 12-13 inches. It eats various crustaceans.

On the following site you can find a lot more detailed information on the Picasso Trigger Fish: Picasso Trigger Fish,

The shot was taken at 1600 ASA. I postprocessed this shot as usual (Levels, crop and USM) and in addition I pulled the shot through Noise Ninja. Which I learned recently to be a good noise reducer. See the WS of 'letr' on the shot of the Scorpion Fish.
