They live all over in the open savannah of Southern Africa. They are social creatures and live in groups of 20 to 40 animals, sometimes in larger herds, the members of which are usually cows and calves, led by a bull. There are also herds consisting exclusively of bachelor bulls.
Blue wildebeest graze when it is cool, in the morning and late afternoon. In the heat of the day, one finds them standing quietly under shady trees.
In the breeding period, a bull occupies a territory, which he grimly defends. After an eight and a half months long pregnancy, the cow gives birth to one or two calves that are immediately able to walk. The life expectancy of the Blue Wildebeest is between 15 and 20 years. |

| Couldn't help feeling that the original looked a little cool and washed out. Just added some 10% saturation, 10% contrast, -2% brightness and a 25% 85 warming filter to perk it up a little... total time in Photoshop, less than a minute. |
