Walking On Water (40) kaparu2 (52) | Taken very early one summer morning.
Reviewing some previous shots I looked up the river and saw a lone swan - instinct or expectation - I put the camera back into shoot mode and changed lenses to my 80 -200.
The swan performed to perfection, 'flying' my way to join others upstream - in fact he never took off completely covering the whole 2-300 metre stretch by fly walking across the water. I was so happy to see this and to capture it after missing an earlier opportunity with two others - just being in the right place at the right time.
The reflection in the right hand part of the image is of a semi-derelict industrial area - the river and canal scapes which run through the city of Leicester are endlessly fascinating to me. |
