Taken at the Cango Wildlife Ranch. This place has one of the first breeding programs on cheetah. It is situated just outside Oudtshoorn in the Little Karoo, and since its inception in 1977 it has grown to become a tourist attractions in the region. Purchased as the Cango Crocodile Ranch by Andrew and Glenn Eriksen in 1986, the focus of the ranch shifted towards the plight of endangered species, and in line with this dedication it was expanded to include a number of big cats, with its first breeding programme focusing on the highly endangered Cheetah. The Cango Wildlife Ranch and its breeding centre is carefully designed so that its more than 47 species of animals and reptiles can roam peacefully in comfortable natural enclosures, giving visitors the opportunity to closely observe, and in some cases, interact with a wide variety of unusual and endangered animals.

Hi Reina,
I used the toold threshold to find out the white and the black point in your picture. And use eyedrop tool? (I'm not sure of the english name of the tool) to mark the points. The I use levels pipettes to click in the markings, tten will the colours be back. Add some S/H too around 5% add some contrast too 5% and finaly add USm 200% and 0.2 pixels.
If you want the new more how to use Threshold you can read Adrian's explanation when I used this technique for one of Loots picture,
Here.

Regards
Gert

all work in photoshop
1) used levels to set white point to white band on tiger head
2)used curves to lighten mid levels
3) used saturation to return color after lightening
4)sharpened

(1) Adjust levels. (hold down "ALT" key and move the left slider until you just start to see a bit of color, do the same with the right slider, then release the "ALT" key and move the center slider to make it as light as you want...not too much though. Then adjust the brightness(-6)/contrast(+8).
