 The soloist (66) ellis49
(28681) | Today’s post is common crane. When they arrived in the spring it’s a great event.
Our famous resting place Hornborgarsjön is invaded of bird-watcher from all the word. The locals have build small hides as they rent out for a big cost.
The cranes come in thousand (up to 12000 cranes/day) to rest and feed before the long trip to the north of our country. When they return in the autumn they rest quite close where I live.
So I use to drive out in the early morning and waiting by the fields, the car is a great hide and they will come very close. And they even dance in autumn just to keep the bonds.
This picture is taken a gray morning with fog and haze, a normal September morning.
And it was a couple of hundreds at the field at the same time.
In the Fields
This one was a soloist and dance for the female.
Pair dance
I hope you like it.

Most probably would feel that this is too tight a crop, but then I do tend to opt for tight crops. Just a personal preference. I do like cropping out the far angled BG and the OOF foreground. I removed some noise from the BG.
