, I present this capture of the Rufous Hornero (Furnarius rufus).

Male and female share the familiar responsibilities: they collaborate in the preparation of the nest, in which the female will put of 3 to 6 white eggs, that will incubate one after another one. Similarly they will educate both to the chicks, directing them under a careful monitoring to the adult state and independence.

The denomination of hornero (or bricklayer) must that - during the rainy station it constructs a voluminous nest in furnace form, with a lateral opening. The walls of this nest are formed by mud, are mixed with little straw, branches and small pebbles.

Once they harden, these buildings are so solid, that they remain in good state, in spite of being outdoors, during several years; of this form, the pairs remain in the same nest, from a station to another one. It begins to construct the nest in the autumn, uses for it mud and straw, that transports in the tip, in this task
collaborates the pair and works without rest the day throughout, until finishing, and demonstrates to its joy with whines and songs.

As it constructs the nest with mud, the work begins after the time of rains. First they knead the material in the environs. Soon they construct the base and they decide the direction of the nest. When the plinth is ready they begin to raise the wall in semicircle.
Finally it is closed the vault, with a door in form of nose in one of its sides.
Finally the horneros close that nose in spiral, inwards of the nest, and that way it is formed an inner camera, that will be the true nest and that the pair will upholster with pens and leaf.
They smooth the inner walls with the tip or with the help of a straw when the mud still is fresh.
