 Cajón Negro (12) Bass
(502) | Cajón Negro Valley - Nahuel Huapi National Park - Patagonia Argentina
Taken from Belvedere mountain (1992 mts over sea level, latitude 40º 42´S - longitude 71º 37´W).-
At the left you can see the Belvedere slope, in the middle the Cajón Negro (´Black Drawer´because the colours and shadows of the mountains that sourround it) and at the right there is the edge of the Falso Belvedere (´False Belvedere´). The valley was formed by three volcanic periods that were mix with three glacier periods, being the last the one that gave form to the valleys and mountains. In the Drawer two ´glaciars circuses´ can be observed and the birth of the Piedritas stream, who finish its course at the lake that you can see at the back, Nahuel Huapi lake, also with glaciar origin.
The vegetation at the summit of the Belvedere corresponds to high mountain: lichens and shrubs of height. Descending you can seen the stocky forests of Lengas and normal high Lengas. At half of mountains, and in proximity of the lakes, the forests of Coihues can be appreciated.
The pic was taken with a common camera (Canon sure shot), a cloudy and very windy day. Then was scanned and I work with a blue filter on the photoshop to improve the colours (searching real colours of the landscape) and reduce the ´fog´ of the scanner. |
