Fantastic shot Christodoulos! I recently saw them on Rhodes, presumably the subspecies rhodium.

Kind regards,
Matt

Fantastic shot! I wonder if this beetle can be found on Rhodes, am going there soon and there is lots of Ferula communis.

Kind regards
Matt

Hi Ilias, theres no way this is a Common Blue. They don't have such broad black margins to the wings. Silver-studded Blues on the other hand do, and without seeing any other ID features on the underside I would suggest that as the species.

Regardless of ID its a lovely shot, well done!
Matt
