Who are the 662 people who visited this picture and didn't make a smiley face?? This is vibrant, iconic and tells a story. The worker bee on his way to a big red hot appointment... It seems a perfect compromise on f-stop/shutter speed too. Fast enough to freeze the bee, but also deep enough to catch it and the flower. Interesting detail in the background--adds a sense of implied movement behind this frozen instant--but also soft and non-distracting. It's a favorite!

On my stroll through your gallery the warmth of this sun called out to me. Little did I know how much warmth it would reveal in your note and in the words of all your admirers! Your commentary should be required reading for all newbies, making us feel quite at home in feeling out of place. In great appreciation I will shout TFS! ...having no idea what it means...

Technically, I agree with "Adam73" -- I, too, would have blown the highlights. Well done!

Jorge, I visited a lovely kite image from you earlier today because it jumped out at me as a featured photo on the front page. I had not seen your full collection, however, and it is stupendous! The only trouble is that all your images are so strong, it's hard deciding where to click. For this one I'll borrow words from a compadre... Está muy chula, con esa disparidad del movimiento de las alas y partes quietas en la cabeza y cuerpo. And add it to my favorites!

This kite reminds me of my cat... "a work of art in search of the prefect frame". I think you've found it! Thanks :)

WOW is right! Stunning detail and color. Moth pops off the page. I look forward to your return to Indonesia!

Adorable frozen moment, great color and texture, superb catchlights! For this venue I'd be tempted to crop tightly but that's only cause I'm jealous!

Hi Hendrik,
This one's a beauty! I love the gentle tones of white, the proud puffy pose and the blue at left offsetting the bird's orange. The soft light is great and would translate well to print. I also like your 'signature' frames. Beside the nice font, the format is unusual and distinctively you and that's a good thing. Thanks!

Looks to me this has very nice potential if cropped rather tightly and vertically around the bird. And can the highlights come down just a little?

Interesting fungus and composition. I'm worried the highlights are a little hot tho. And I'm wondering what's to the right where the fungus sneaks out of frame...

:)

This shot looks like it has nice potential if you try pulling up the curves!
