Hello Penny ,
nice capture of this spider with details.Sorry not sure of the ID.
Spider do sense moisture and heat through its Tarsal claws.
Some spiders do sense smell also.
Thanks for sharing

Hi Penny,
I think this is some type of Fishing spider. Although I don't know the exact ID. Very well captured with sharp details. Very good POV. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Nice macro Penny,
Very sharp and detailed. Love your POV and the DOF is just right for this wonderful shot.
Sorry I can't help with the identification, but he is a neat looking little fella. TFS.

Penny;
Not sure if you have noticed, but in my case I have. This bird tends to try and hide itself without moving or flying about. It does it's pecking and if it sense someone is watching it wither doesn't pay atttention any longer and keeps on peck or it stops and watches you!:-) Pretty neat. And this is indeed a nice image in which you had a low contrast situation and handled it fine!

Hello Penny
Your notes explain the capture very well and the noise and lack of sharpness is as you say a by product of a huge crop..In a new territory such as you are then it is best to get all the captures you can as time allows and study your subjects behaviour which will then give you the captures that you desire....All that said this a very good capture of the Flicker (cool name) given the conditions.
Best Regards
Trevor

Hi Penny yes i can see past the noice knowing it can be taken out with a free down load called neat image. You still have a well detail picture of the bird. They have some unusual markings which you show well. good natural colours. well done TFS.

Hi Penny

A fine shot of this well coloured hawk. He stands out well against that lovely blue sky. Good sharpness and composition.

Hi Penny,

Nice Egret. I like the reflection-esp. the eye which was towards the water got reflected well.

TFS,

Subhayan.

Penny,

The bird's pose is priceless. It looks like this bird is taking it easy and relaxing for a change. That's a great capture.
I think that this POV works a bit better here. The green background helps to bring the details of the bird's plumage to attention. I also like the way you composed this particular shot. Very nicely done.

Best Regards,

Martin
