(1286) [2011-03-06 7:11] You are a very lucky man to have a shot of the Black-Crowned Night-Heron. This is the male bird and they are very shy and it is not easy to photograph them. Good use of flash for detail.

I like the colours and composition. The snow provides for interesting foreground impact. Well seen Derek.
Just a few small nits that can easily be fixed. The image looks a tad over-sharpened and you hsve two black spots above the trees on the left to remove.
