Nice that the red of the bird matches the red of the flowers. In a case of a bird outside of its normal range, any photo is better than none, if only to validate the sighting.
Sometimes eye contact is good, depending on the characteristics of the species, whether they are shy or bold. I personally feel eye contact means the photographer has intruded on the natural activities of the bird, so I prefer when I can get shots where they are just going on about their business.
