Hi Lou,
So tiny, but so beautiful! I find cyphelloid fungi extremely attractive. Great photo, congratulations! I know most cyphelloidas cannot be identified without microscope, so just a hint: probably your photo shows Merismodes connivens (P. Karst.) Knudsen? At least the macroscopic features and the fruiting time correspond.
Kind regards from Ireland, László

Hi Laurens
Beautiful and impressive at the same time.
I think that touching it must be painful.

Hi Lou,
Artistic photo of a rather rare species which is very difficult to identify. Excellent composition, PoV and sharpness. Congratulations again, beautiful shot!

Hi Lou,
Fantastic. Both the photo and the finding. For me definitely the most important and educative photo in this year on TN, as I've never heard about this cyphelloid species before. After a quick search on the net I see it belongs to the family Niaceae and the order Agaricales now. I never in my life found cyphelloidas yet, but of course I'm always prepared. :-)
Thanks for sharing and huge congratulations for the photo / identification.
Kind regards from Ireland, László
