Nice moment in time to capture with a good dynamic feel created by the splash and foot positions of the two main egrets. For me personally, I can't help wishing that the wing tip on the left was complete in the frame but as it is the picture still tells the story perfectly well.

Beautiful image, and especially love the reflection in the water. DOF is just about spot on, light and colours are spot on, to qualify this as a "critique" I guess that the only thing I might consider changing would be to dull down the bright patch (stone?) under the heron's beak which tends to catch me eye.

Lovely textures and colour to this little guy, he blends in so well. DOF is quite good, it might have looked better at a slightly smaller aperture to get the big real leg in focus as well as the body but at 1/50th sec you are running out of light.

Nicely done, the owl looks a little surprised! The directional light gives some nice shadowing on the side and the top of the head, but it would be nice to see more of the side and its colours. Striking image though.

A nice moody shot. I like it how you can still see the lake but are blocked by the fog to see any further. Exposure due the fog is well controlled. Any photos from closer or at the lake?

What a moment you've captured. I love how this little finch posed for you on this beautiful rock. It even looks like he's smiling at you.

Rock surface has a few OE spots and could be toned down. The soft gray BG with its green sports is wonderful

A nice photo with such great clarity and detail. The central composition is slightly bothering but the subject and its pose make up for it. I like it that you didn't add much contrast and kept it overall soft.

I see you have posted over 400 photos but never wrote a critique. Part of the experience of TN is to write critique so that you can learn from others and others can learn from you. Just 'dumping' photos on this site is not appreciated.

So luck to have a yard that attracts such beautiful birds. I whish I could say the same of my urban garden.

The photo is really beautiful with an acceptable central composition, a nice depth with a wonderful soft BG. One could say that the oof leaves in the FG are a little intrusive, but they can also be seen and creating some depth. They do claim some attention away from the bird though and by cropping most away the photo does become more pleasant to look at.

Een bijzonder mooie foto met erg mooi detail in de kop en de plant. De achtergrond laat nog net mooi genoeg detail zien zodat je een idee krijgt van de omgeving. Ik denk wel dat de achterkant van het Lantaarntje net buiten de focus viel. Maar misschien ook wel logisch als je zo dicht bij bent.

You know, I will always focus on landscapes, so glad to find one on your first page. The view of this magnificent mountains is stunning. I am sure hiking near to them is even more impressive then seeing them on a photo. The exposure is well controlled with good detail in both highlights and shadows.

A nice clean presentation taken at a great moment. Looks to me the eye isn't as sharp as it could be. I like the addition of the spider webbing and the lovely soft tones of the BG.

Hi Asbed,

Allow me to be honest. This is not a pleasant photo to look at. Due to your camera setting the duckling is hard to separate from its surrounding. The movement of your camera also created a harsh BG. Both camera setting and movement did not capture the duckling in good sharpness. I would recommend you close down your aperture which will also increase your shutter speed, so that you are able to capture the duck with less motion blur and also create a more softer BG. You do not need that much DOF with this type of photo You have an extremely fast lens, so use it to its benefit. Focusing will be difficult on such a small and quick bird so it will definitely be a trial and error exercise.
