I am not sure how I missed commenting on this lovely shot. What a subject to work with. Your lighting, focus and the reflection are top notch. This is an award winning shot.

This is a great shot. There is so much going on and you have captured it very well. You are right, the web is beautiful. I have never seen an inter-part of a web that looks like this. It almost looks like a drink coaster. Then you have the spider and the bug.
This is nature at it's best.

This is a very good portrait shot of the Black Swan. The lighting and focus show the detail of the feathers very well. I agree with Ivan that the light on the bill is a little over exposed, but that doesn't distract form a very nice shot.
Good note as well.

I am like you. I have been out with out much success, but isn't that why we do this photo stuff. So we can get out in the world.
I like the clarity of the Song Sparrow. The diagonal limb sure helps the photo.

This is a very interesting capture of this big guy. Your lighting shows off the texture of his skin very nicely. The picture is very crisp and sharp.
Thanks for sharing this picture.

I can say I have never seen a grass hopper this color. You have done a great job of capturing this natural act of the 2 very colorful insects. You have very good focus and depth of field on this shot.
Very good note.

Great note. I would never have guessed that this was frozen mud.
I love your ice and now mud pictures. We have a lot of flowers, birds and wildlife, but not many ice pictures. You have a great eye to find these patterns.
You focus and lighting is just right.

I like the collage of your fungus. You have an interesting POV and your focus is sharp. It might of helped if you had some way the fill the the dark areas with a little fill light either from a flash or a reflector. I do like the different views.

I have been out of touch for a while, but I think I am back.
I like this shot. It looks like you have the right timing for the "water". Great focus and depth of field. The only thing I would change would be to warm up the weather and get rid of the icicles. Well, I guess as photographers, we can't do every thing.
Nice job - Bob |

What a lovely capture of the magnificent animal. Good thing you could shoot a vertical shot. You sure it the light right. Sorry about the rain. Your focus is sharp.
Nice story about Janice.

I think this is one of your best in flight shots. The body of the bird is very sharp and the wings have great clarity and detail. I understand your average of 1 for 30 shots. I have that a lot and most of my subjects are standing still.

Your clarity, focus and exposure are right on. I like the POV we have of the beautiful butterfly.

Good eye on your walk . A good shot of a very interesting natural phenomenon. The focus is good, but my first reaction was the it was over powered by the light in the middle. Not sure if it was the sun of your flash. Even with that, for me it is an interesting picture, well framed and natural looking.
I like you story about your mom. Some day I will tell about the snake I brought home. It was the last one in the house.

OK you have done it again.
I love this picture and I will tell you why. I like shooting Bee's so I was drawn to this picture, but it was the drop of water on the lower left pedal the made the picture for me. You show the bee hard at work and the water drop enjoying it's last few minutes in the sun.

You are right, our Gull pictures are very similar.
The diagonal framing of the gull is a major part of your picture. It is well focused and exposed. I like that you caught the Gull speaking it's mind.

This is a lovely shot of the Northern Shoveler. I find this whole picture your note and the timing of it very interesting. We to get this bird in our area but mostly as it migrates North to breed. It just so happens that this is the time of year we see it. It is fascinating to me that being half a world away we can still enjoy the same natural wonders at the same time. Like you, we are loosing much of our water ways to development. In the future, we may only have these great pictures to remember what birds came our way.
Thank you for sharing you lovely picture.

Great detail in the close up of this lady lion. I like that we can see what look to be seeds and bugs in her fur. That helps give us an idea that she is out in the wild.

I think it is so interesting when we find something in the picture we didn't see when we took it.
I like the activity of this picture. It is not the sharpest picture you have posted, but I don't think that is the point of this kind of picture. A tripod might have helped, but maybe the shot would have gotten away. It is a great environmental photo.
And we think the mother with eight new kids and 6 at home has a hand full. What about this mom? And by the way, where is the dad?
