Hi Ori,I enjoy seeing this simple yet effective image of the seedhead of this grass.I too have trained my camera on grasses from time to time. I would of liked to had seen the very tip of the head howevr the colour is good and the image sharp. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Janice, this is certainly a nice image to see. Yesterday I took some eagle photos and blue jays,as well as deer but I didn't get as nice an eagle photo as what you have uploaded today.I like the straight on point of view look this bird has and your clear and sharp focus with the good light.Nice capture! Thank you Janice for sharing your eagle with us.

Hi Luciano,
this is an attractive fritillary of a sort that looks similar to one's seen here where I live.I see you have used flash to light up your subject and that has given very good colour and sharp details. An enjoyable image and thank you for sharing it with us.

Hi Asbed, this is a decent looking image of the cormorant as the colour is good and is the sharpness.I wish you had, had a longer lens on your camera so as to capture the bird's blue eyes.A nice addition to TN and thank you for sharing it with us.

Hi ,Lou

I must admit that I enjoy the sight of fungi be they mushrooms, fungus or lichen because those plants have so much character and texture.I do like what I see you are presenting us today, however the focus doesn't quite look as sharp as it could be-a minor point but because a critique is needed and I really do not care for them anymore -critiques that is. Lou it is a nice photo.

Hi Odile,I am a middle aged man who like in your introduction is very much the same when it comes to photography. The photo you present to us has a very clear and sharp Thornbill as presented, however what I like and actually love about this photo of yours is that wonderfully soft and mellow background with the soft pastel colours going for it as that really makes the bird-sing!
Thank you for this lovely upload.

Hi Andy, this is a very nicely taken photo, sharp in it's details and the colour is spot on.It would be even more sharp if you had stopped the lens down even say to f/11,still I like the out of focus background you have in this shot.I think you have a Katydid as it lacks rear antennae that most crickets tend to have, also crickets are mostly black or brown in colour. A belated welcome to you here on TN and thanks for sharing "Katy" with us.They are also known as bush crickets.

Hi Ron,I really enjoy this rather superb shot of the goldfinch as you couldn't get him better exposed than you have already. The light worked very well for this very colour accurate shot and it is nice to see him perched under what looks to be a sunflower, yellow just like he.An attractive and airy photo of a bird that can be found here in Alberta as well, now if only I could get a crack at one.Ron you make very good use of that 5D mark II,such an excellent camera! Thanks for sharing this bright and well focused shot with us.

Hi Peter,I almost didn't see the bird from the thumbnail as it blends very well with the colour and texture of the tree it is on.The photo is sharp and well coloured it is lucky that the bird looks like it resting being day time and it being a nocturnal species, you could of easily missed it.

Hi Ricardo,I like the subject however the the image looks a little too soft on the focus.A tip I can give is take the focal length used for the shot,270mm and take 1 and divide it by the focal length so you get 1/270 this is sort of what is a good shutter speed to use for the focal length,so use 1/250 second. To get that just increase the ISO until you are near to the 1/250 second for the focal length used.A faster shutter speed when handheld shooting makes for clearer shots.

Hi Luciano, this a very clear and clean looking shot of the butterfly. The details are well brought out and the colour looks good.I see in your note, in the UK all sightings should be reported to DEFRA,who or what is DEFRA? Thank you for sharing this nice little creature with us.

Beautiful shot Anna.
Your timing was much better than mine with this image. Mines mouth was still closed. Great composition, good natural colour, nice sharp detail and well balanced contrast makes this one a special to view the beauty of this animal. It even gave you an excellent pose although I remember it was just for a very fleeting moment.
Well done and thanks for sharing.

Excellent capture Anna.
That one got your adrenaline going. Lovely colours and sharp detail gives one a pleasant look at this action. That's a nice sizable fish for the Heron to enjoy. The vertical image worked well and I like the piece of grass in front just to anchor the scene.
Well done and thanks for sharing.
