Hello Nigel,
a very fine BF. the tern standout well against the blurry BG.
Maybe a smaller apetertur to get the front wing in better focus, maybe you where close.
Fine WB and nice nautal colours.

I agree what you wrote about TN and posting, during the 11 years nothing have happend here about
picture size, I suppose nothing will happend the next 11 either.

a fine picture, I don't think the sharpness is problem, the problem is the rules of TN who does not allowed more than 800px.
I like this picture, itäs well exposed, we can see details och shimmering tones in the plumage, really nice.
The short DOF is also fine, the bird stand out fine from the BG.

A very fine picture with sharp details in the fur, you manged rather well with composition too.
Even if Nikkor 85mm F1,8 is one of sharpest lenses it's a bit short for this kind of pictures.
But you handle and managed more than well, it would be great to see longer lens i your hands :-)

Hi Ron ,
this is a stunning portrait of Cardinal , not only because it has a nice composition with good exposure.
I know from personal experience how hard it is to get the red color perfect, the details tend to disappear and the exposure of red tend to also be wrong with a digtial camera. You have to know how to do, what you have done here.
You have done very well with the details plumage , as well as with the dominant red color , the color reproduction is very good.

nice to see you on TN my friend, I visit TN sporadic now.
a fine picture , good komposion , nice colors and bird stands out well against BG, thanks to F/3.2 .
In place you have lost some sharpness run the eyes and beak because of the large aperture,
chest have sharp feathers. Maybe F8.0 would have helped
Anyway a nice picture .

The whole butterfly is very good focus and stand out well from the blurry BG.
Well exposed but I'm not sure about the WB.

A very beautiful picture of the flying dragonfly .
You have done well to freeze the wings and I think that DOF is very good, all the insect is in good focus and it stands out well against the blurred background.
Sharp fine details , natural colors and good exposure.
