[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This image was taken probably very short time after the birth of the little elephant in the middle of the females group.
One of the elephants takes the placenta and seconds later through it near by.
We were lucky to see this rare moment in Savuti game reserve in Botswana.

What a rare shot indeed, Lior. Very interesting.
That baby is so tiny next to the adults.
Thanks for this great and unusual glimpse of nature.
And a warm welcome to TN. : )

Hi Lior
incredible moment you caught here
may I suggest that a compo with feet closer to lower border would even be better

I agree, pretty amazing momment to capture. I don't think I have ever seen an elephant placenta. Right place at the right time. TFS

Hello Lior,
A rare shot indeed. This is a first for me that practically live with elephants daily at my work place. You can see the little one is still unsteady on it's feet. Excellent my friend and thanks for sharing this very rare occasion with us.

Amazing and interesting photo
