[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
We spotted this leopard sauntering down the road before it walked into the high grass along the Kwai river in Moremi, at 08:15 after we had a far too long breakfast with some friends at North Gate. Finally, the one creature I really wanted to see, right in front of the lens. It took it's time, made me shoot five photos of it, before it disappeared completely in the grass. And left me being a very happy man!

Adjusted levels & curves in photoshop, sharpened using smart sharpen.

To answer Paul: it was cropped a little bit (max 10% off the edges) and I used autofocus, though I allways use the centerpoint only.

C'est un superbe léopard que tu as capturé.
J'aime la manière dont il se fond dans le décor et la similitude des couleurs.
Le cadrage est parfait. Son regard est captivant.
Bravo !

Emile, this is a great photo. Great colours, sharpness excellent, a very nice composite. TFS.

Picture perfect, it has everything with maybe the exception of teeth and a notch down the red levels...

Superb opening shot Emile!
You've captured this beautiful cat perfectly. Photo has excellent framing and details, lighting is perfect as well, but most of all I like the colours here. They look so natural.

remarquable photo. La photo est vraiment superbe

This is an excellent picture and it doesn't get any better than this, it is perfectly framed. Those spots really draw you into the leopard. Keep up the great photography! Paul :)

Bonjour! Cette photo est magnifique. J'adore les teintes et le regard de l'animal. Excellente netteté et beau point de vue. J'ajoute à mes favoris!

I love the colours on this shot. The leopard is very clear and the coat is just wonderful and soft looking. You don't get much option with position when you ahve a hunter like this around, but the leopard has done you proud.

Do you use auto focus or manual? Last question is this a crop or not?

Thanks for posting.

This is one animal thats hiding from me all the time. I have been to many places but never saw even one leopard in the wild. You are very lucky and I am jealous now. I have seen cheetahs, lions, wild cats but no leopard. You got him in its natural surroundings and in a heavenly light. very lucky man indeed. And I know exactly how you might have felt. I had the same feeling when I saw three cheetahs together in Kruger national park.

What a wonderful and interesting Leopard that you have well captured in nature we have never seen when we are there. Cong

A lovely shot of this leopard in the grass...I think it is one of the nicest shots I have seen, really. The colors of the grass and how well they blend with the coat on this leopard is quite remarkable. Really very nicely captured by you here. Just wonderful.
