Pic dedicated to Asbed, the king of birds on the move

Class: Aves
Order: Ciconiiformes
Family: Ardeidae
Genus: Egretta
Species: E. garzetta

The Little Egret (Egretta garzetta) is a small white heron. It is the Old World counterpart to the very similar New World Snowy Egret.
The adult Little Egret is 55–65 cm long with an 88–106 cm wingspan, and weighs 350–550 grams. Its plumage is all white. The subspecies garzetta has long black legs with yellow feet and a slim black bill. In the breeding season, the adult has two long nape plumes and gauzy plumes on the back and breast, and the bare skin between the bill and eyes becomes red or blue. Juveniles are similar to non-breeding adults but have greenish-black legs and duller yellow feet. has yellow feet and a bare patch of grey-green skin between the bill and eyes. The subspecies nigripes differs in having yellow skin between the bill and eye, and blackish feet.
Little Egrets are mostly silent but make various croaking and bubbling calls at their breeding colonies and produce a harsh alarm call when disturbed.

EGRETTA GARZETTA

Very amusing, and also a very sharp picture of this bird testing the waters, as it seems (I suspect it was just landing or taking off, however!!).

Salut Luciano

Bonjour Liciano,
Bon après-midi

Good action shot! Looks a bit over sharpened on my monitor, the position of the wings and the legs and the total action itself is pleasing.

Hello Luciano,
This is a fantastic shot. The soaring white heron against bright blue water is excellently composed and exposed. Thanks for sharing this masterpiece.Regards Siggi

Roberto

Hi Luciano,

You're capturing well this scene by a good timing and excellent tone/clarity, so it's funny a little to see the spectacle that Egret is walking along the seashore slowly extending the feather. The spray which arose after walking on long foot is effective, too. And, the ripple draws out a good effect in this image.

Kind regards,
mikio

Cool action pose here! nice.
