The largest eagle of Africa's Savannas.
Adult sooty black on head, upper breast, back,and wings. Breast sharply demarcated from white belly, which is covered with many black spots, continuing ot to "boots". Eyes and feet yellow. Medium-size, black bill with gray cere;small nape crest. Flight reveals mainly dark underwings. Small banded tail.Immature (below,at left) Has clear white face,underparts, and undewing linings, but black flight feathers.L 32" (80 cm);W 6'4" (1,9 m.)
Relatively rare in savanna belt from Senegal East to Ethiopia. More common in its vast e and s Africa range

great picture of wonderful raptor
nice bluish sky as bg, good catchlight and great compo with bird looking to the right into the open space
but imho you should have left a little bit more space to the left and the right side

Thanks for sharing this majestic Martial Eagle with us. It is a sheer delight to look at this bird, especially from below, showing its stomach and back feathers in all its glory and splendour. This photo is jam packed with awesome detail. It is indeed a very striking image, that is so natural looking. A good viewpoint and composition which I enjoyed a lot to look at. Thanks for sharing.
