Here is a large species (unidentified) which i found near a small river in the forest. The spider was relatively large (6cm) and i shot this from some distance with my telephoto lens and flashgun.

the flash saved the day..and just made it for exposure factor
do you have a flash increment setting on your menu or is it a hot shoe type
this could be a thyristor shot

Hello Paul,
Very nice shot of this intriuing spider. Looks similar to the tropical genus Gasteracantha. Great focus, nice dark BG, interesting composition with the spider-web.
