[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The beauty of Madagascar is that there is such a huge variety in species. Here is a beautiful mantis which was actually hanging upside down next to my tent in the dry forest of Kirindy. Using a tripod and flashgun i was able to get up close for a good quality image. More to come from madagascar!

I love Madagascar, I've some picutres from this beautyfull island in my gallery. I've been there in september 2005.
Nice shot with great details.
Lovely black BG gives a strange (but good) atmosphere.
I don't think it's a mantis, but I don't know what it can be!

Well done and TSF

Hi Paul

Splendid shot of this amazing mantis!
Indeed Madagascar is heaven to any wildlife photographer!
Excellent POV, great contrast between the subject and the dark BG, good sharp details and very nice light. All is well framed and composed.

Bravo and TFS

Fantastic shot, Paul.
What a strange looking creature, even for a mantid. ; P
Sharpness and light are perfect. The subject shows well against the black BG. I really like the pose.
