From Morondava it took us 10 driving hours in a 4x4 vehicule , over punishing roads, to reach Bekopaka the door to the the strange mineral forest of Bemaraha's Tsingy situated on the western coast of Madagascar. but it is really worth going there !

Tsingy de Bemaraha Nature Reserve comprises karstic landscapes and limestone uplands cut into impressive 'tsingy' peaks and a 'forest' of limestone needles.

This geological formation, called karst, is the result of erosion, as acid rains have gradually dissolved the stone of the chalky plateau and carved out sharp ridges that can rise to heights of 30 m.

Truly amazing view of these quaint geological rock formations, Albert.
It was really worth the effort of travelling in tedious conditions.
The picture brings out the awesome features of this stone "forest".
Thanks for sharing this priceless image and best regards.

Hi Albert
This rock formation is really unique. I have never seen this type of formation before. Is the rock porous or more like limestone? Which ever it is, it's gorgeous. Well captured and composed.

Hello Albert! Wonderful landscape, amazing rocks. Good POV and capture. Very good shot. Well done!

Interesting rock formations, I feel the rock over hand is a little distracting I might have alsod darken the image a little

Hello Albert.
This shot really caught my eye because I have lots of experience of karst landscapes
I have been a cave explorer since I was a teenager.
This is one of the most amazing examples I've seen. There must be a few caves in this area.
Very interesting.
Cheers
Steve
