[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
On the curtain of a relative in early evening. A rather battered animal.

Owen Griffiths kindly passed on to me:

"this is Eupatula
walkeri (in it's latest incarnation -- used to be Erebus macrops then Erebus
walkeri) which occurs in Africa south of the Sahara as well as the
Seychelles, Comoros, Madagascar, Reunion and Mauritius. It is likely to be
the largest lepidopteran on Mauritius.

Hello Geofrey

Nice image of butterfly, not your best. The clarity is a lit bit soft as the sharpness. I thing that a lit bit flash was need. It looks to be a lit bit OOF. I impressed with the design of wings. It likes to look at me. Thanks for sharing.

This is, indeed, a BEAUTIFUL IMAGE; but it needed to be "FIXED".
Please view the W/S-ed image and click on "COMPARE SIDE BY SIDE".
It needed some software work on it.
Wish NikosR had "fixed" it for Geoffery.
It does "look at you".
Greetings from Mario in Canada.
