[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Male Blute-ailed day gecko, Phelsuma cepediana, on a Pandanus sp. (apparently new recognised as a different species to P. utilis) at the recently opened and fully recommended Ebony forest at Chamarel on the west side of Mauritius.
https://www.facebook.com/EbonyForestChamarel/

Here three of the four endemic species of Phelsuma can be seen as well as the Mauritian Flycatcher and, of course, ebony trees. They particularly like these Vacoas Pines, or Screw Pines (although not pines at all) but can also be seen the trunks of other trees.

Better in the shade than in full sun because of the bounce off the shiny leaves of the plant as well as from the scales of the animal itself.

Hello Geoffrey,
I would have been thrilled just to see such a colorful lizard, let alone be able to photograph it. What a gorgeous specimen you have presented to us. Great shot showing wonderful detail and lovely natural colors.
Ron

I like the vertical composition with the Gecko perched nicely on the long leaf, or should I say 'plant'?
also love the colours both on the subject and the plant.
Thanks.
Ram
