Basionym:Centaurea crupinoides Desf., Fl. Atlant. 2: 293 (1799)
=Amberboa crupinoides (Desf.) DC., Prodr. 6: 560 (1838)

Volutaria is a genus of flowering plants in the daisy family Asteraceae, its flowers are grouped in capitulum, is likely the genus Centaurea. It grows in arid shrublands, rocky and sandy soils. It is endemic from south of Mediterranean region and west to Iberian Peninsula.

This photo is taken vs Sidi Ifni, northwest of Sahara occidental.
