[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This black scorpion crossed our way in northern Namibia on a foggy morning. I just managed to take some fast fotos. I think it was about 15cm long and run quite fast.
Don't know what species - perhaps someone can help.

Hello Pierre
Impressive macro capture with great details and natural colors

Hi Pierre.

This scorpion looks rather mean with hairy sharp around the tail. Nice framing in natural tone and well done.

Hi Pierre,
I might be mistaken but I think this is the black hairy thick tailed scorpion which is fairly large, often seen during the day and can also capture lizards and mice. A nice clear image in its natural surrounds,The thicker and larger the tail the more potent is the venom.

hello Pierre,

Mean looking scorpion! As I know, scorpions are generally non agressive, moreover they are fleeing away when something big like a human aproaches them, that's why it is quite difficult to take a good picture (like yours) of them. Fine details on that menacing tail.

Cheers, Petru
