Contrary to the common impala, black-faced impala (Aepyceros melampus) is rare and only survives in the Etosha National Park (and private farms). However, it was recently withdrawn from the list of species in danger of extinction by IUCN, because it is the object of active protection measures that ensure its survival.
I was very lucky to meet this beautiful specimen at a time when the light was magnificent
