Hi James,
i loved you note, i really did...man i envy you. Pic's not bad either ;o) Great expression and very well captured, considering your precarious situation. Great stuff, thanks.
Paul
Oh those treks...I know of them from back in the day, but this is the kind of trek which leaves ones spirit dynamically added upon. And here....what an expression...so human in feeling and able to express through facials...A marvelous catch which even "that woman who studied gorillas and I cannot remember her name or yeah Goodall...) would like this as well...

This picture was worth just reading the post but the picture itself is worth the expression of this beautiful animal almost human or is it the opposite?? ;-) The fur is so thick and dark, it also looks clean and the smell of ripe fruit is fantastic. Just like bears, those big ones eat fruits and leaves, cann you imagine? I don't think they eat much meat if they do. Superb and I also think that when light is scarce and that you manage to get a nice picture, it is superb with detailsand subtility. Thank you James, well worth the trip!

Hi James . I am sure you know it but you are a lucky man to have been so close to such a fantastic animal. The detail in the fluffed up fur is spot on it looks like he has a big winter coat on. , and the look on its face. TFS.

Grazie e complimenti. Ciao Maurizio

hello James,
There is something very touching about this picture and it has also more impact, because taken in the wild. There is something so harmless in the eyes of this monkey (gorilla?).Very interesting light too. I just saw a few days ago a very impressive documentary on Jane Godall.
Best regards
