even with a 400mm lens it's not easy to get some details as you did here.. I think you was very close to the monkey :)
good details even if with a crop..
At first time I saw the photo I though that maybe a B&W version could be better, but I really don't know... You could loose the beautiful eyes colors..

You must have been right in his face. The eyes are a definite scene stealer. Colors are wonderful. Nice details and textures of the monkey's face. Hairy, isn't he?

Some monkeys do have fascinating eyes or is it 'cause it's a female?:-)
Good focus but depth of field could be a tad less shallow? Easy to mention...
Quite an experience to be so close to such an animal...

What an opportunity! I've read a National Geographic article about the Silver Backs and here you are, posting a picture of one! I am sure this was a thrill to visit one of the groups and share the same space with them. Must be an unforgettable experience. TFS!

Impressive portret of the gorrila you have made. The eyes of the animal have such a human look. Despite the difficult lighting condition you have rendered very well the colors of fur, skin and especialy eyes.

Wow, what a great picture ! I love the look in this gorilla's eyes, she has a very intense stare. The details and texures of the skin have also be very nicely captured, and I love the tight crop.
