|I found this bird next to my hotel in Seychelles. I think it is Madagascar Turtle-Dove (Streptopelia picturata?). I loved the mild pink and blue colours in the back. Could not find much information about this bird in the web. |
Though it is not generally an endangered one in certain islands it may be an endangered species.
When people first arrived on the Seychelles, Turtle Doves were so tame that they could be knocked out of the trees with sticks.

Hi Bala,i'm not a bird expert but i think that your identification is correct watching on the web. A lovely capture, the colors are beautiful despite the difficult light. Have a nice weekend and thanks,Luciano

Yes, you got right about the ID. It's also named Seychelles Turtledove. I've seen it in Madagascar. Good picture in nice sharpness and natural colors.

I have always loved pigeons since my childhood so your image immediately captured my attention. What a lovely Malagasy turtle dove showing beautiful colors and good detail. A tiny bit of noise visible in the BG, but still a wonderful shot. The composition is beautiful. Well done!
